Clinic apps for Dubai practices, built to DHA rules from day one.

Our clinic app development Dubai team builds patient apps, doctor apps and clinic management systems for outpatient clinics, polyclinics, specialist practices and day surgery providers licensed by the Dubai Health Authority. Patients book, check in, see their insurance status, join a video consultation and pay in one app, while your front desk, doctors and billing staff work from one connected system instead of phones, paper and three separate portals.

Health data in the UAE comes with firm rules on where it is stored and who may see it, and Dubai adds its own telehealth standards and the NABIDH health information exchange. We plan the app around those obligations first, so compliance shapes the design rather than delaying the launch.

What the app can include

What patients and clinic staff use every day.

Dubai patients expect to book a doctor as easily as a taxi. Many hold insurance through their employer under Dubai's mandatory health insurance system, so they want to know before the visit whether it is covered and what they will pay. Residents speak dozens of languages, tourists and business visitors need urgent appointments, and families often book for parents, children and domestic staff from one phone. On the clinic side, DHA licensing, the DHA telehealth standard, NABIDH reporting and insurance claims shape what the system must record. A doctor booking app that cannot handle insurance or family accounts will push patients back to the phone. A clinic management app that ignores NABIDH creates double entry for your staff. These are the capabilities we usually plan, starting with the ones patients notice and ending with the ones your compliance and finance teams rely on.

Explain your project
  • Doctor search and appointment booking

Search by specialty, doctor, language spoken, gender, branch and insurance accepted, with live slots from your practice management system. Patients book, reschedule or cancel in a few taps, and automatic reminders cut no shows. Waiting lists fill cancelled slots, and urgent same day appointments can be flagged for the front desk to confirm.

Fuller diaries and fewer phone bookings.

  • Family accounts and patient identity

One login can manage appointments for a spouse, children, elderly parents or household staff, each with their own medical record and consent settings. Registration can use Emirates ID details or UAE Pass where your setup supports it, and tourists register with a passport. Duplicate patient records are prevented at the point of booking.

Clean patient records from the first visit.

  • Insurance verification

Patients add their insurance card, the system checks eligibility and network status through your insurer connections, and shows whether a visit needs prior approval. Front desk staff see the result before the patient arrives, and claims data flows into your billing process for submission through the Dubai claims platform your clinic already uses.

Fewer surprises at the reception desk.

  • Video consultations

Secure video visits built to the DHA Standards for Telehealth Services, with identity confirmation, consent capture, clinical notes and e-prescriptions where your licence allows. Calls are encrypted, and recordings, if your policy permits them at all, are stored in the UAE. Doctors see the patient's history beside the video window.

Remote care that meets DHA expectations.

  • Digital check in and queue

Patients complete forms and consent before arriving, check in by QR at reception, and follow their place in the queue on their phone. Staff see who has arrived, who is waiting and which room is free, which matters most on busy evenings when working residents visit after office hours.

Shorter waits and calmer waiting rooms.

  • Results, prescriptions and records

Lab results, radiology reports, prescriptions and visit summaries released to the patient after a doctor reviews them, with clear explanations of what to do next. Sensitive results can be held back until the doctor has discussed them, and patients can share a record with another provider in a controlled way.

Patients stop calling for copies of reports.

  • Payments and co pay

Co payments, self pay consultations, packages and deposits collected through a UAE payment gateway with cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Receipts and invoices with VAT are generated automatically, and patients can download them for insurance reimbursement claims with their own insurer. Refunds for cancelled appointments follow your policy automatically.

Faster payment, less cash at the counter.

  • Doctor and staff app

Doctors see their day, patient summaries, pending results and telehealth calls on a phone or tablet. Nurses manage triage and vitals, and reception handles bookings and insurance checks. Each role sees only what it needs, and every access to a patient record is logged. Doctors can dictate short notes between patients.

Clinical staff work from one system, not five.

  • NABIDH and system integration

Connections to your electronic medical record, laboratory and pharmacy systems using HL7 and FHIR, so data entered once reaches NABIDH, Dubai's health information exchange, through your approved route. We work with your EMR vendor rather than around it, and we test every message type before go live.

No double entry and no reporting gaps.

  • Clinic management dashboard

Appointments, utilisation by doctor and room, no show rates, insurance rejections and revenue by service across all branches. Managers spot bottlenecks early, and multi branch groups can compare performance between their clinics in Jumeirah, Al Barsha, Dubai Silicon Oasis or wherever they operate. Exports feed your finance and board reports.

Decisions based on real clinic data.

Who this is for

Four clinic situations we see in Dubai.

Clinics in Dubai range from a single general practice in a residential community to specialist groups with branches across the city, and the right app depends on where you start. Some clinics already have a capable EMR and need a patient app on top. Others need a clinic management app that ties scheduling, billing and records together. Practices in Dubai Healthcare City answer to that free zone's own health regulator rather than DHA, which changes some licensing details but not the need for careful data handling. Here are the cases we see most often.

01

A single clinic moving bookings off the phone

Reception spends most of the day answering calls and confirming appointments, and no shows waste doctor time. We build a clinic appointment app connected to your existing scheduling system, with reminders, insurance capture and online forms. Your staff keep their current tools while patients move to self service, and we add payments and records later if they prove useful. The first release usually pays attention to the busiest hours, where the phone pressure is highest. Front desk staff are trained alongside the launch so nothing changes for them overnight.

Start where the phone rings most.

02

A multi branch group wanting one patient experience

Groups often run different systems at different branches, and patients notice. We build one branded app that books across every branch, shows doctors by location and language, and connects to each branch's systems through a shared integration layer. Head office gets reporting across the group, and patients can move between branches without registering again. Branch managers keep control of their own diaries and staff. Shared patient records also make referrals between specialists in the group faster. New branches join the app without a separate release.

03

A clinic adding telehealth

Video consultations need more than a video link. The DHA telehealth standard covers identity checks, consent, documentation, prescribing and data protection, and your facility licence must cover the telehealth service you offer. We build the telehealth module to those requirements, integrate it with your records and billing, and help your team document how it meets the standard. Patients book a video visit in the same way as an in person one. Follow up appointments and prescriptions after a video visit appear in the patient's record straight away.

Licence scope is checked before we build.

04

A practice replacing an overseas platform

Some clinics run on software hosted abroad, which conflicts with the UAE rule that health data should be stored and processed inside the country unless an exception applies. We plan a migration of patient records, appointments and documents into a UAE hosted system, with a cut over plan that keeps the clinic running throughout and a clear record of what moved where. Old data is retained or deleted according to your retention policy. Staff are retrained on the new system before the old one is switched off.

From discovery to a clinic that runs on the app.

  1. 01Clinic visit and discoveryWe spend time in your Dubai clinic with reception, nurses, doctors and billing, follow a patient from booking to payment, and review your licences, EMR and insurer connections before writing the scope.
  2. 02Compliance and data planData flows, hosting in the UAE, consent, roles, retention, telehealth requirements and NABIDH connections are mapped and agreed with your medical director and data protection lead. The result is a written plan your team keeps.
  3. 03Patient and staff designPatient screens in English and Arabic tested with real patients of different ages, and staff screens tested with your team during real clinic sessions, not in a meeting room.Accessibility for older patients is checked too.
  4. 04Build and integrationPatient app, staff app and dashboard built in parallel with integrations to your EMR, scheduling, insurance and payment systems, each tested against agreed message formats.Integration issues are raised with vendors early.
  5. 05Security testing and launchPenetration testing, access reviews and a soft launch with a small group of patients, followed by staff training and app store release once issues are fixed.Rollback plans are ready before go live.
  6. 06Ongoing improvementUsage, no show rates and patient feedback guide each release, and the system is updated when DHA standards or insurer requirements change, so the app stays compliant over time.We report changes to you before they take effect.

Questions clinics ask before building an app.

It depends on integrations and whether telehealth is included.

A booking app connected to one scheduling system is a focused project. Adding telehealth, insurance verification, results release and NABIDH connections extends the plan, mostly because each integration needs testing with your vendors and, in some cases, approval steps on their side. Security testing and app store review add time near the end. We agree dates in writing after discovery, with buffer for third party dependencies we do not control.
