Gym apps for Dubai chains and boutique studios, from the turnstile to the timetable.

Codeeo handles gym app development Dubai operators can run their whole floor on: member sign up and renewals, QR or phone entry at the turnstile, class and studio booking, personal trainer sessions and a back office for the managers who run each branch. We build for multi branch chains along Sheikh Zayed Road and in the newer communities, and for boutique studios in Al Quoz, Jumeirah and Dubai Marina, where one bad booking experience costs a member.

Members in this city change their routine with the seasons. Summer pushes training indoors and into early mornings or late evenings, Ramadan moves peak hours to after iftar, and many members leave the country for weeks at a time. The app has to bend with all of that without a call to reception.

Inside the app

Built around how members actually use a Dubai gym.

A member opens a gym app for three reasons: to get through the door, to grab a spot in a class, and to sort out their membership. Everything else is secondary. In Dubai that membership side carries more weight than in most cities, because people travel for the whole of July and August, switch branches when they move from JLT to Dubai Hills, and expect to freeze, upgrade or transfer a plan from their phone. Owners also need the operational layer: trainer rosters, studio capacity, corporate accounts and reporting that shows which branch is filling and which is not. A gym management app that only books classes leaves your front desk doing the rest by hand. We start with entry, booking and membership, then add the coaching and commercial features your model depends on, in the order that gives your team the biggest relief first. Every feature is checked against one question: does it save a member a trip to reception, or save your staff a manual task?

Explain your project
  • Phone based entry and access control

Members walk in with a rotating QR code or an NFC pass in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. We connect the app to your turnstile or door controller, check membership status at the gate in real time, and block entry for expired or frozen plans. Guest passes and day passes for visitors are issued the same way.

No plastic cards and no shared entry codes.

  • Membership plans, freezes and transfers

Sell monthly, quarterly and annual plans in the app, with rules you set for summer freezes, medical holds, branch transfers and upgrades. Renewals, failed payments and plan changes are handled automatically, and staff only step in when a request falls outside policy.

Fewer membership tasks at the desk.

  • Class and studio booking

Live timetables for each branch with capacity limits, waitlists, late cancellation rules and spot selection for bikes or reformers. Members see which instructor is leading, filter by class type or time of day, and get a reminder before the session starts.

Fuller classes and fewer empty spots.

  • Personal trainer bookings and packs

Members buy session packs, book a trainer from that coach's own calendar and track remaining sessions. Trainers get a staff app with their schedule, client notes and progress check ins, and managers see utilisation per coach across every location. Programme cards, logged sets and optional sync with Apple Health or Health Connect can be added when coaching is central to your offer.

PT revenue that is tracked, not guessed.

  • Women only hours and zones

Many Dubai gyms run ladies only floors, studios or time slots. The app shows these sessions only to eligible members, applies the right access rules at the door, and keeps class lists and trainer assignments consistent with your policy.

Separate spaces managed without manual checks.

  • Payments and instalments

Card payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay, saved cards for renewals, and buy now pay later for annual plans through Tabby or Tamara where your payment provider supports it. VAT compliant receipts arrive in the app and by email.

Annual plans that are easier to say yes to.

  • Corporate and community memberships

Company accounts with employee eligibility lists, and residential community or hotel partnerships where access is tied to an address or a room. Each partner gets its own reporting without seeing other members' data.

    B2B memberships that run themselves.

  • Seasonal timetables and challenges

Switch every branch to a Ramadan schedule with late night classes in one action, then back again after Eid. During the Dubai Fitness Challenge each November, run in app streaks, free community sessions and guest invites that turn visitors into members, with results tracked per branch.

    Busy seasons planned, not improvised.

  • Trainer records and compliance

Keep each coach's certifications, REPs UAE registration where it applies, first aid expiry and specialisms in one place, with reminders before anything lapses. When the Dubai Sports Council or a partner asks who is qualified to teach what, the answer is a report rather than a hunt through folders.

Staff paperwork ready whenever it is asked for.

  • Branch manager dashboard

Check ins by hour, class fill rates, freezes, churn risk and PT sales for each branch, with push campaigns for quiet hours. Head office sees the whole network, while each manager sees only their own site.

    Decisions made on live numbers.

Who we build for

Four kinds of Dubai fitness operator we work with.

A big box gym with thousands of members and a three room boutique studio need very different apps, even though both sell memberships and classes. The size of your network, the access hardware already fitted, and whether your revenue leans on memberships, class packs or personal training decide what the first version should contain. These are the situations we see most often in Dubai.

01

Multi branch gym chains

Chains with sites across Deira, Al Barsha, Business Bay and the newer suburbs need one membership that works at every branch, central pricing, and access rules that differ by tier. We plan the gym membership app around a single member record, connect it to each site's turnstiles, and give regional managers reporting by location. Legacy membership software can be kept as the system of record or replaced in stages. Pricing can differ between a single club pass and an all access tier, and the app shows each member exactly which branches and hours their plan covers, so nobody is turned away at a gate they thought they could use.

Network wide access rules are the first thing we map.

02

Boutique studios

Reformer Pilates, spin, boxing and HIIT studios in Al Quoz, Jumeirah and DIFC sell class packs, not long contracts. Here the gym booking app development work centres on spot selection, waitlists, intro offers and instructor pages, with checkout fast enough for someone booking on the way out of the office. Owners with two or three studios also want shared credits across locations, instructor payroll reports based on class attendance, and reviews after each class that help decide which formats to keep on the timetable.

03

Ladies only gyms

Women only facilities need tight privacy: no trainer or member photos shown without consent, careful handling of body measurements, and access rules that keep the space exclusive. Arabic and English screens, family accounts for mothers and daughters, and female coach bookings are usually part of the first release. We also make sure push notifications and lock screen previews never show anything a member would not want seen by someone else holding her phone.

04

Hotel, residential and corporate gyms

Fitness clubs inside hotels, towers and office buildings serve guests, residents and employees alongside paying outside members. We build access that recognises each group, links to the property's own systems, and lets the operator sell external memberships without opening the door to everyone. Guest access can expire with the hotel checkout date, and resident access can end automatically when a tenancy is closed by the building management.

Each user group gets its own access rules.

How a Dubai gym app moves from first meeting to launch.

  1. 01Floor walk and discoveryWe visit your Dubai branch, watch the entry gates at peak hour, sit with the front desk and list every membership rule, freeze policy and class format before writing the scope.
  2. 02Hardware and systems auditTurnstiles, door controllers, lockers, payment gateway and any existing membership software are checked for APIs, so integration risk is known early.
  3. 03Member and staff designScreens for members, trainers and managers in English and Arabic, tested with real members on their own phones before development begins.
  4. 04Build in short cyclesEntry and membership first, then booking, then coaching and reporting, with a working build on test devices every two weeks for your team to try.
  5. 05Pilot branchOne branch goes live first, so access rules, peak hour load and staff training are proven before the rest of the network switches over.
  6. 06Rollout and seasonal tuningRemaining branches follow, and we adjust timetables, freeze rules and campaigns around summer, Ramadan and the winter rush.

Technology

What we build this with.

We usually build with Flutter or React Native for one codebase across iOS and Android, a Node.js or Laravel back end, and UAE region cloud hosting. Member data is handled in line with the UAE PDPL, and access control links use your hardware vendor's API or a local controller.

Questions Dubai gym owners ask us.

It depends mostly on access hardware and how many branches go live together.

A booking and membership app for a single studio is a much smaller job than a chain wide platform with turnstile integration and corporate accounts. We set the order of features in discovery, check how open your door controllers and membership software are, and then commit to dates. Piloting at one branch before the full rollout adds a little time but removes most of the risk on opening day. A focused first release can then be followed by trainer tools, corporate accounts and coaching content in later updates.
